We affirm that the Bible, both Old and New Testaments, though written by men, was supernaturally inspired by God so that every word is a true revelation of God; it is therefore inerrant in the originals and authoritative in all matters. It is to be understood by all through the illumination of the Holy Spirit, comparing Scripture with Scripture and understanding frameworks of historical context.
Scripture: Deuteronomy 29:29; Isaiah 55:11; Matthew 24:35; 1 Thessalonians 2:13; 2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:19-21; 1 Corinthians 2:10-16.
We affirm our belief in one God, creator, and sustainer of all things. God is holy, jealous, faithful, merciful and true; a righteous judge of good and evil. God alone possesses three divine characteristics; omniscience, omnipotence, and omnipresence. God exists eternally in three persons, God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. These three are one in essence but distinct in person and function.
Scripture: Genesis 1:1, 1:26; Deuteronomy 4:24, 6:4, 32:4; Psalm 7:11,19:7-11, 139:7-12, 147:5; Isaiah 6:3, 44:6-9; Jeremiah 23:23-24; Mark 12:29; Luke 1:37, 15:11-24; John 1:1-5; Romans 1:18; 1 Corinthians 1:9; Hebrews 4:13; 2 Peter 3:9; 1 John 5:7-8; Revelation 4:8.
We affirm that all things were created by God. Angels were created as ministering agents, though some, under the leadership of Satan, fell from their sinless state to become agents of evil. Angels, both good and evil, appear among us and are active in the ongoing battle of good and evil. Angels, both good and evil, are exceedingly numerous, can be seen or unseen, and can sometimes appear as strangers. Angels observe us and are extremely powerful. Angels who serve Satan are known as demons who will afflict and possess earthly beings for influence.
Scripture: Genesis 1:1; Isaiah 14:12-19; Ezekiel 28:12-19; 2 Kings 6:15-17; Matthew 7:22; Mark 5:8, 11:13; Luke 8:36; Acts 8:7,16:16; Hebrews 1:14,12:22, 13:2; Revelation 5:11,12:1-12.
We affirm the freewill of man, the inevitable sin it produces, and the death produced by sin. Adam and Eve, the first man and woman, disobeyed God when they were tempted by Satan, bringing sin and death into the world. As a result, the world has gone astray, sinned against God; subject to eternal punishment, under the just condemnation of a holy God. Satan continues to promote sin today through temptation and dominion over corrupt world systems. The wages of sin are death.
Scripture: Genesis 2:15-17, 3:1-6; Isaiah 53:6; Luke 4:1-13; John 10:10, 12:31, 14:30; Romans 3:10-19, 5:12, 6:23; Ephesians 2:2; Hebrews 9:27; James 1:15; 1 Peter 5:8; 1 John 2:16.
We affirm the atonement for sin completed by Jesus Christ. God gave mankind a sacrificial system for the forgiveness of sin. Jesus Christ, born of a virgin, wholly God and wholly man, lived a sinless life and offered Himself a perfect sacrifice for the sins of the world by the appointment of God the Father. He died on the cross, was buried, and on the third day rose again. He ascended into heaven where He, as Lord of all, intercedes for all believers. Through the atonement Jesus conquered sin and death, Satan’s final defeat is certain.
Scripture: Leviticus 16:2-16, 17:11; Isaiah 53:1-6; Matthew 20:28; Romans 6:23, 8:24; Galatians 3:13; 2 Corinthians 5:21; Colossians 2:13-16; 1 Timothy 2:5-6; Hebrews 2:9, 9:11-14; Revelation 12:10.
We affirm salvation for the whole world is possible by faith Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. On profession of faith, the believer is declared righteous, regenerated by the indwelling Holy Spirit, a child of God. The indwelling Holy Spirit bears witness to their salvation. The Holy Spirit guides and empowers the believer in obedience to the gospel, the pursuit of holiness, utilizing the believer’s purified heart and conscience. All those who continue in faith to the end will be saved.
Scripture: Matther 24:13; Mark 1:15; John 3:1-21, 14:6; Acts 4:12; Romans 1:17,5:1-9, 8:16, 10:9-10; 1 Corinthians 12:3; 2 Corinthians 5:17,7:10, 13:5; Ephesians 2:8-10; 2 Thessalonians 1:8; Colossians 1:28; Hebrews 5:9, 9:14; 1 Peter 4:17.
We affirm that believers are sanctified by the Holy Spirit. The believer is purified by the blood of Jesus, changed, transformed, sanctified in an instant as a child of God. The sanctification of the believer continues as the indwelling Holy Spirit provides conviction of sin, produces ongoing confession and repentance, and eliminates sin from the believer’s life. We encourage self-examination, contrition, and confession to God of sin as it is revealed.
Scripture: Psalm 139:23-24; Romans 8:9-11, 12-17; 1 Corinthians 6:9-11, 19-20; 2 Corinthians 5:17, 13:5; Galatians 5:16-24; 1 John 1:7-10, 3:8-10.
We affirm that the Holy Spirit continues the work begun at Pentecost. We believe that baptism in the Spirit and fire is a gift from our Lord Jesus Christ. It is received by faith and is unrelated to works. Believers should confidently pray in faith for fullness of the Holy Spirit; expecting that fruits, gifts and manifestations of Holy Spirit will follow, the purpose of which is to both grow our union with God and expand His Kingdom on earth.
Scripture: Matthew 3:11; Acts 1:4; 1 Corinthians 12:8-11,28-31,13:4-7, 14:1, 2-5, 33, 39; Romans 8: 26-27; Galatians 5:23.
We affirm that the Church is the fellowship of all who are justified and sanctified by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. Membership in the body of Christ is not optional for believers: it is a reality given to all who know Christ, the Head of the Church.
Scripture: Colossians 1:18; Romans 12:4-5; Ephesians 4:4-6,15,16; 1 Corinthians 12:12-30.
We affirm the immortality of the soul; in the resurrection of the body; the general judgment at the end of the world; eternal happiness of the righteous; endless punishment for the wicked.
Scripture: Genesis 2:7; Matthew 25: 31-46; Mark 9:42-48; Romans 2: 5-11; 1 Corinthians 15: 50-54; 1 Timothy 6:13-16; 2 Thessalonians 1:6-10; 2 Peter 3:8-13; Revelation 22: 12-15.
